Hi Victoria, it looks good! This is a very interesting topic to explore. One suggestion: could you perhaps change your blog title to something like 'Victoria's world of online game cultures' or something similar? This is really your topic. It will mean people immediately know what your blog is about. Great choice of colours too by the way. Good luck with it, Carol
ya! That's great, I think our topics are quite close that we can share information & ideas.
Victoria,
Well done. You've done a lot of research into a subject that is personally affecting you, but I actually have a number of issues.
First, it seems that a lot of your data is too old. Research from 2004 comes from before the next generation of consoles and therefore very dated. This goes for a few of your articles that come before a greater acceptance of casual gaming among different age groups.
Second, I think that all of the articles on addiction are very biased, ESPECIALLY the freewebs blog--its poor writing and lack of outside information is truly enraging. The important issue here is videogame addiction in absence of other media. Do you know anyone who spends hours of their time watching TV or messing around on the internet? This is just as dangerous to health and social interaction as video games are.
I'm upset with the old information because the ever popular Nintendo Wii involves physical interaction and influences social interaction. Didn't you find any articles about this? (By the way, the article about the Korean man dying after 50 hours of gaming is crucial because its the first case of its kind--no one else has ever died from playing games for too long)
Sorry if this sounds very negative, but this is an issue very close to my heart, as it is to you. I've just spent a lot of time and hard work following this industry for years and I think it's a turning stone in our generation.

here is a GREAT article on another blog that is very recent and official.
Also, there is no link to the NDS Gathering photo at the top of your blog. I think this is really fascinating and I am always trying to find things like this in HK. Can you send me more info?
